STP 2016 Show Announcement

The Summer Theatre Program invites you to Be Our Guest as we celebrate the 20th year of this exciting and enriching ministry with Disney’s Beauty and the Beast!  In addition to the story’s memorable enchanted characters, the musical highlights strong theme of understanding, love, and mercy, which are most appropriate in this Jubilee Year.

Auditions will be held at Saint Bernadette Church (School Gym) on May 24 and 25 at 6pm with callbacks, as needed, on Thursday, May 26 at 6pm.  Students need only attend one of the two audition days and should come prepared to sing a prepared song and participate in a dance audition.  Performances will be July 28-30 at Bishop Ireton High School.  For more information and points of contact, please visit

Auditions are open to all current 8th-12th grade students.  There are no individual audition times/appointments.  Auditions are done in small groups on a largely first-come, first-serve basis.  All students auditioning should arrive no later than 8pm to ensure they are able to complete their audition.  Once someone is done with all aspects of their audition, they will be free to depart.  If needed, the Director will hold callback on May 26 beginning at 6pm.  Callbacks afford the Directors an opportunity to see something more, something else, or to build various ensembles to see how they might work on stage.  Just because someone receives a callback does not guarantee them a role; similarly, someone who does not receive a callback is not cut from the  show.  The Director reserves the right to build the cast from all prospective cast members regardless of callback status.  More information, including tips to aid your preparation can be found on the STP Audition Policy page (
The Summer Theatre Program is a ministry co-sponsored by Saint Bernadette Catholic Church in Springfield, VA, and Bishop Ireton High School in Alexandria, VA. Started in 1997, STP has become a hallmark of the region's summer programming for high school youth. This Program seeks to offer students of all skills, abilities, and experience the opportunity to be a part of a theatrical production. In so doing, the students become a community and instill within each other a trust, confidence, and abiding joy that carries over into daily life.
